tl;dr DeFranco is a liar; he did in fact sell Sourcefed and allowed it to be canceled for a check.

DeFranco was still acting Senior Vice President when DDN (SourceFed's parent network) was acquired and merged with (sold to) Group Nine Media in December of 2016.
When he "sold" SourceFed to DDN in 2013, he became the Senior Vice President of DDN (under the deal he had with DDN parent company Discovery Communications).
Therefore he is actually responsible for this, and I'd be interested in seeking how much money he recieved when Group Nine Media acquired SourceFed/SeekerDaily/DDN.
